Blue Light is held on the Last Friday of every month at the
Caloundra Rollerdrome. For dates

- The cost is $10.00 (Increasing to
$10 as of 30/01/2009)
- The age group is
from 7 - 16yrs.
- The dance parties start at 7pm
and finish at 10pm.
- Smoking, Drugs
and Alcohol are not permitted.
- Pass-outs are not issued.

- Blue Light is a successful
program internationally, with every State and Territory
in Australia
participating, as well as New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Islands and Papua
New
Guinea.
- Blue Light aims to assist the
police to rectify the imbalance of pro-active and
re-active policing where
young people are concerned. It does this by providing young people with
positive lifestyle alternatives and strategies to avoid becoming an offender
or victim of crime.
- Blue Light promotes the
police as offering an integrated pro-active youth service which takes a
holistic approach to helping young people.
Objectives of
Blue Light Events
- To provide safe, healthy,
supervised entertainment for young people in an environment which excludes
drugs, alcohol consumption and violence.
- To develop and encourage better
relations and improved communication between young people, Police and adult
members of the community.
- To prevent the occurrence of
crime with youths, either as victims or perpetrators, whilst at the events.
- To ensure funds raised are used
for persons or organizations within the Caloundra community, particularly
those relating to young people.
